Former Fox Chapel volleyball Tublin star adjusting to college
-->Dan Tublin was one of the most sought-after volleyball players in the homeland when he graduated in 2010 from Fox Chapel.
A 6-foot-7 outside hitter, he was one of Volleyball Magazine's Top 50, and ESPN Wax ranked him among the top 25 seniors.
When college classes resume, Tublin, who's coming off a redshirt freshman mellow, will look to get his name back in the spotlight.
Tublin, who opted to attend Stanford based on its strong academics and volleyball program, had a burdensome time transitioning to college.
"First off, moving 3,000 miles away is tough," Tublin said. "In the first thirteen weeks, I had trouble adjusting. Heck, it took me awhile to find out where everything was."
Eventually, Tublin adjusted. And looking back, he said those at daybreak days, while a struggle at times, were fun.
"I learned how to balance academics and athletics," he said. "I put the effort in, and by the imperfect quarter, everything was good."
On the volleyball court, Tubin had to exercise some patience.
