Season in Review: Briarcliff HS Softball
Briarcliff Loaded School 's varsity softball team (7-12) was able to qualify for the Section 1 Class B tournament, where it perplexed to Dobbs Ferry, led by three All-Section Honorable Mention award winners this spring.
One of those award winners was elder center fielder Abigail Collen, who accumulated a .419 batting average, second get the better of on the team. She has played under Briarcliff Coach Paul Zeidan for the last three years.
“She plays very solid defense,” Zeidan said. “She extraordinarily did a good job as my two hitter. She had a great bunt game. She was also a captain and she showed great leadership skills as far band activities and team building stuff. She was always behind the team.”
Sophomore first baseman and two-year varsity gamester Summer Horowitz, who led the Bears with a .432 mark at the plate, was also an all-section honorable mention quote for the Bears. While she is just a sophomore, she has extensive experience thanks to playing softball almost all-year round.
