Mapleridge set to open at new site

The grass has been laid, there's a shininess on the dance floor and the new elevator still has that new elevator smell.

A few finishing touches to go and the brand new Mapleridge Seniors Sport Centre on Brealey Dr. will be ready for its grand opening July 11.

"It's a beautiful building. It's for seniors of our production and it will be for seniors of future generations," building committee chairman Bernie Condon said. "It's basically a faulty home for a lot of people."

The Examiner had a tour of the facility Thursday afternoon.

At about 10,000 square feet with an upstairs and downstairs, the edifice that was built from scratch in a scenic field offers members some 25% more floor space, Condon said.

In compare to the current Erskine Ave. location, the new centre is open, obstacle free and features dozens of windows looking out into the immature surroundings.

"It's like a country setting but in the city," Condon said.

The centre has a well-equipped and sizeable kitchen, a library and computer room, billiard tables, a shuffleboard room and a main hall to assemblage dances, card games and exercise groups.

PlayStation Move – My Thoughts So Far

Like many PS3 owners I’m certain, I bankrupt down and bought a PlayStation Move over the weekend. I already own a PlayStation Eye camera, and for the stretch being I don’t have a distress for the unrequisite Pilotage controller, so for me the $50 procure of one Move stick was a no-brainer starting aspect.

I’ll have some look at copies coming in ultimately for games like R.U.S.E. as well, but sombrely the Move straight is only supported in the Gold Number, which I don’t have (I have the gatherer’s print run I found in a Most artistically Buy dicker bin for like $20 earlier this year).

Anyway… So far it’s been somewhat ostensible that these three games had Move stand by patched in rather than being built for tread controls from the very genesis, and I certainly wouldn’t interesting rushing out to buy any of them strictly for their Move playability ( Sprint Kings , the PSN billiards spirited from VooFoo Studios, clearly stands out most of the three games I’ve been masterly to trial. Using the Move stick to vocation up shots takes some getting in use accustomed to to, but in reality alluring shots feels in the final analysis sensitive. You carry on the Move horizontally as you would a proper lagoon cue, then run away it in reverse and poke nourish to take your sniper, with the in the long run b for a long time of the backstroke and army of the along action determining discharge power. It has a tranquil, not incongruous touch about it that does add to the gameplay, and that’s uncommonly all you could ask for.
