What are "points" on a billiards pool cue stick? and what are they for?

Where are these points found and what do I look for to find out if my cue stand out has these?
they are for show-- but most if not all manufacturers use this as a way to conclude value-- the points on a stick the money its worth

The points are barely for looks. They are the long triangle shapes that are between the wrap (where your back hand holds the cue) and the joint (where a two-piece cue screws together).
It hand-me-down to be the case that the more points the cue

I enjoy oneself pool regularly with a friend here at work, I used to just randomly grab the chalk and chalk my stay all the time, but I could discern no real purpose to this so I stopped and my game does not seem to have suffered. So what is the real
I had to understand Straights answer first .To see if he used one of his favorite sayings-It so simple its hard to explain-But to give your tip more grip on the cue ball.take into account everything Uncut said Or you didnt have much of a game to start

What's the status of pool/billiards/cue sports being added to the Olympics?

I can't be convinced of archery and shooting are olympic events, but pool/billiards isn't.
I read a few years ago that seeing cue sports added to the olympic games is becoming realizable, but I haven't heard anything about it ever since.
hey KABABAYAN..i understand its BS that pool/billiards is not included in the olympics but if it will be our country might have won its first ever gold medal..maybe even silver or bronze at the same time(i recollect thats me hoping for more medal)..but
