Orcollo thwarts Immonen, enters Sweet 16

MANILA, Philippines – Beget’s No. 1 cue master Dennis “Robocop” Orcollo defeated Mika Immonen of Finland , 8-5, to go forward into the Last 16 of the 2011 Guinness World Series of Pool 10-Ball Challenge in Indonesia on Saturday.

The marry saw Orcollo, one of the tournament favorites, trailing Immonen early, 0-2.

Orcollo scored a brilliant boost shot over the red 3 to sink the 1 ball in the 4th rack but was called for a foul on his approach to the 9 ball. This paved the way for Immonen to post a insouciant 3-1 advantage.

In the 5th rack, Immonen committed an error that allowed Orcollo to even the score at 3 racks each.

The turning fitting for Orcollo finally came in the 8th rack when Immonen left an exposed safety on the 4 ball. The Filipino ace orchestrated 3 unanswered racks to paralyse the Finn and snatch the lead.

Immonen committed a final error in Rack 13 by missing a crystalline sidepocket shot on the 9 ball, allowing Orcollo to seize an 8-5 victory.

In 9-ball billiards, if you scratch after the 9 ball goes in what is the result?

Could you please place the exact rule if it can be found online. I notice when watching it on tv as soon as the 9 ball goes it they will just grab the cue ball telling me that it makes no rest whether the cue ball goes in a pocket or not.

You don't automatically let slip. The ball is spotted and the other player gets ball in hand. The billiard congress of america states this with the following rules:

In 9-ball, you only win if you sank the legions 9 ball. If you scratch, it goes to foul, and the 9 ball is put back on the table on the foot spot, ang the opponent have a free ball.

I objective have to say how impressed I am. Several of you cited the BCA website. They are correct, a scratch on the 9-ball is ball in hand to your opponent with the 9-ball being respotted. You don't understand how rare it is to get so many play up to

Someones already done that...the generic name for all those games is....Pot!

A question about 9 ball billiards?

I was playing billiards today, 9-ball rules. When it was my opponents operate b depend on and the 4 ball was next in line, he hit the 4 ball in. But when he hit it in the cue ball rolled towards the 9 ball and hit it in.
Is that considered a win?

If the cue ball legally contacted the 4-ball (it did), and the 9-ball demolish (it did), and the cue ball stayed on the table (it did?), that is a win. Your opponent did indeed get a quick win on you.
